Remote desktop and SSH for IT consultants.
Use Flashlink to reach devices you are authorised to administer, investigate a problem through a desktop or terminal, and let colleagues follow the same remote session.
Plan the access before the support call.
Flashlink uses an installed Node on the remote device and a Master on the computer you connect from. Create the peers in the relevant account and complete installation before you need the connection. The setup guide walks through a first connection.
For client work, agree who owns the account and devices, who is authorised to access them and how access will be removed when the assignment ends. Discuss your intended client and operator arrangement with Flashlink before planning a wider deployment.
Use a terminal for diagnostics and a desktop for visual work.
On supported Node installations, Flashlink sets up SSH access so an authorised Master can open a terminal through the private tunnel. The Node must be correctly installed and connected, and the Master session must be authorised.
For visual troubleshooting, open the remote desktop. In a shared session, one controller sends mouse and keyboard input while multiple viewers follow. A viewer can request control when another operator needs to act. Read about shared sessions.
Evaluate the service with a repeatable pilot.
- Choose a test device and a computer to administer it from. Confirm the operating systems, installation rights and permission to access the device.
- Install Node and Master and establish a desktop connection. Where supported, also open an SSH terminal.
- Reconnect after restarting the test device. Try the workflow on the networks you expect to use.
- If collaboration is required, test a viewer joining and requesting control.
- Review device removal, account ownership, supplier dependencies and pricing before extending the setup.
Understand hosting and costs.
Flashlink AB operates from Sweden with European VPN and relay hosting. Read the technical security policy for encryption, infrastructure and supplier dependencies, and the privacy policy for data handling.
The first five active peers per account are free, with Nodes and Masters counted together. Each additional active peer costs €1 per month including applicable VAT. Offline allocated peers still count until deleted or deactivated. See pricing and service terms for billing details.
